- Jun 06, 2019 Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 2.0A not working I have a Microsoft Wireless Multimedia Keyboard 1.0A and a Wireless Optical Mouse 2.0A and have had them around 3 years or so. They were given to me with a computer but as the computer wasn't working I didn't have a chance to use them until about a year and a half ago.

It’s not necessary to turn OFF the firewall. However you may check if that make any difference. To Turn on or off the windows Live one care firewall do the following:
i. Open OneCare.
ii. Under Quick links, click Change settings.
iii. On the Firewall tab, select one of the following settings:
• On (recommended): Use this setting if you use your home or personal network and you want to enable an easy connection to other printers, other computers, or other devices.
• Off: We recommend that you do not use this setting. Turning off the firewall can put your computer at risk. If you must use this setting, select the time period that you want the firewall turned off from the drop-down menu.

2. In Device Manager, locate the device, right click on it and uninstall.
3. Restart the computer.
4. Let Windows vista detect the drivers by itself and install. If that does not help, install the latest drivers from the manufacturer’s website.
